Actor Vijay was present at the funeral of veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, at his farmhouse in Thamaraipakkam, Tirvallur. The duo had acted together in the 2000 film Priyamaanavale, as son and father. SPB has also sung numerous hit songs for Vijay over the years like O Thendrale and Azhagooril Poothavale. 

The remains of SPB were taken from his residence in Nungambakkam to his farmhouse earlier today and thousands of fans from all over the state lined up on the sides of the road to pay their last honours to the lengedary singer. 

SPB's funeral of was held with full police honours and 72 bullets were shot in the air, upon the order of the state government to show their respect for the deceased singer.
