Aldis Hodge of The Invisible Man fame will play the role of Hawkman in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. The film is a spin-off of Warner Bros and New Line Cinema’s Shazam!, starring Zachary Levi in the titular role.

Black Adam, which will feature Johnson as the titular antihero, will be helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, known for making The Shallows.

The news of Aldis Hodge playing Hawkman was revealed by Dwayne Johnson through his Instagram page. Sharing the posters of Black Adam and Hawkman alongside photos of himself and Hodge, he welcomed Hodge to the project.

According to DC Comics, Hawkman aka Carter Hall is a member of the Justice Society, a group that preceded the Justice League.

The makers of Black Adam are yet to cast actors for the roles of Doctor Fate and Cyclone. The film is written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, from a previous draft by Adam Sztykiel.

Johnson is also producing the project with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions, and Beau Flynn through FlynnPictureCo.

Black Adam is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2021.
