Actor Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share a short video message as a tribute to his longtime associate and dear friend SP Balasubrahmanyam, who passed away today. On Thursday, Kamal visited the hospital where the singer was admitted.

It is noteworthy to mention that SPB provided the dubbing for Kamal Haasan in many Telugu movies.

The actor posted a short video montage of his pictures with the late singer and said, "Only a few artists get their deserving fame and recognition in their lifetime itself. My brother SPB was one such person who received all the accolades. I thank all the fans across the nation who bid goodbye to him with a shower of praises and love. I thank my brother who let me share a little in the shower of fame that he drenched himself in. I am lucky and honoured to have lived under the shadow of his voice. In many languages, he lived as the voice of more than four generations of superstars. His legacy is eternal"

Meanwhile, MGM Healthcare released an official statement about the demise stating that the singer had earlier tested negative for COVID on September 4. However, his health deteriorated on Thursday and despite maximum life support measures and the best of efforts, the singer suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest and breathed his last on Friday.
