One of the most sought after actor-singer combinations in Tamil cinema has surely been that of Rajinikanth and SP Balasubrahmanyam. Fans were ecstatic to learn that this combo would come together yet again in Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Annaatthe, with director Siva.

Even as gloom sets in the world of Indian cinema following the death of the legendary singer, we learn that the film's composer D Imman has completed recording the song.

Talking about his experience working with the singer, Imman says, "That song from Annaatthe is my most important treasure. Rajini sir's intro song is always special. And if SPB sir sings it, that is a positive vibe in itself. People believe this combo guarantees success; such is the positivity SPB sir brings with him. The fact that he recorded his last song for Rajinikanth with me is so surreal. I feel so blessed."

Annaatthe also stars Meena, Khushboo, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakashraj, Robo Shankar, Soori, and Sathish.

Said to be a rural drama, Annaatthe has Vetri and Ruben handling cinematography and editing, respectively. The shooting for the film will continue once the lockdown is revoked.
