Tamannaah Bhatia would be stepping into the shoes of Tabu in the Telugu remake of Andhadhun, announced its makers on Saturday. She will be seen playing the wife of a retired actor in the crime-thriller directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. Released in 2018, Andhadhun has become a path-breaking success at the box-office.

Apart from the commercial acclaim, the film has won three national awards including Best Feature Film in Hindi, Best Screenplay and Best Actor for Ayushmann Khurrana.

The Telugu remake, also featuring Nithiin and Nabha Natesh, will go on floors later this year.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah, who awaits the direct-to-digital release of That is Mahalakshmi, has recently started shooting for her upcoming romantic entertainer Gurthunda Seethakalam. She will also be seen as a Kabaddi coach in Gopichand's sports-drama Seetimaarr.
