John Boyega is teaming up with director Gavin Hood for a thriller titled The Test. The film, which is bankrolled by Entertainment One, is an official adaptation of Canadian writer Sylvain Neuvel's 2017 novel of the same name.

The Test will also feature actor Payman Maadi, who is famous for the Oscar-winning movie A Separation and Michael Bay's 6 Underground

The story of The Test is based on a calm immigrant (Maadi) taking a citizen evaluation test, and an intelligent young behavioural psychologist (Boyega) conducting 'the test' to confront a terrorist group lead by a far-right fanatic.

Boyega will next be seen in Red, White and Blue, a segment from Steve McQueen's anthology series Small Axe.
