Vettaikkaran director Babu Sivan passes away at 54

Apart from directing Vettaikaran, Babu Sivan has worked as a writer in Vijay's Kuruvi

Director Babu Sivan, who is known for helming Vijay's Vettaikaran in 2009, breathed his last yesterday in Chennai. The filmmaker was 54 years old. He is survived by his wife and two children. Babu Sivan was admitted in Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai.

His mortal remains will be kept at his house in Madambakkam, Chennai for homage. Vijay's fans have been sending condolence messages on social media.

Reportedly, he suffered from liver and kidney failure. He was earlier admitted to a private hospital and was later shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital. Contradictory to multiple reports, Babu Sivan tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

Apart from directing Vettaikaran, Babu Sivan also worked as a writer in Vijay's Kuruvi.
