Serious Men, an adaptation of Manu Joseph’s satirical novel, will premiere on Netflix on October 2, the global streamer announced today. Directed by Sudhir Mishra, Serious Men stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as an ambitious underachiever who ‘capitalises on his son’s newfound fame as a boy-genius to improve his family’s fortunes’. The film also stars Aakshath Das, Shweta Basu Prasad, Nassar and Indira Tiwari.

“This is my third project with Netflix and returning to the streaming service always feels like homecoming,” Nawazuddin shared. “I am excited about this film as I waited almost 20 years to work with Sudhir Mishra. It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait for the audience to watch Serious Men and join this journey with me this Gandhi Jayanti.”

Nawazuddin’s last film, Raat Akeli Hai, is also streaming on Netflix. The actor will also be seen in Bole Chudiyan, co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia, and No Land’s Man.
