Anushka Sharma not a part of Prabhas’ Adipurush: Reports

CE Features

Anushka Sharma will not be part of Prabhas’s upcoming film, Adipurush. It was recently rumoured that Anushka, who was last seen in Zero (2018), had been approached to play Sita in the Om Raut directorial. However, sources close to the actor have refuted the claim, saying Anushka is raring to work immediately after her pregnancy, but Adipurush is not in her line-up of films.

An adaptation of the Ramayana, Adipurush is presently in pre-production. The bilingual 3D film is expected to go on floors in 2021. With Prabhas essaying the lead role of Lord Rama, the action epic will feature Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh.

“I am grateful to Prabhas for accepting the part and my vision,” Om Raut had previously shared. “We embark on this journey with tremendous passion and pride and promise our audience an experience like never before.”

Adipurush is set for release in 2022. The film is produced by T-Series along with Raut’s Retrophiles.
