John Abraham will reportedly play the parallel lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action thriller, Pathan. The film, to be produced by Yash Raj Films, will go on floors in January 2021, reports claim. It was earlier speculated that Deepika Padukone might play the female lead in Pathan.

Siddharth Anand last directed the blockbuster War (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. In a similar vein, Pathan will be a cat-and-mouse action film shot on a big scale.

Shah Rukh Khan’s last release was Zero (2018). Besides Pathan, he’s also been linked to projects helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, Raj and DK, and Aashiq Abu.

In an #AskSRK session in April, the actor had addressed the speculation around his next flick. “Don’t tire yourself. It’s obvious I will do some films...it’s obvious they will be made..and it’s obvious you all will know..” he had tweeted.
