Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for more than a month now, after testing positive for COVID-19, is steadily on the road to recovery.  His son, who provided a health update today, said that the singer's progress is 'slow, yet steady'.

In his statement, Charan said, "Everything is going smooth. We are not expecting any complications. All seems well, thanks to the prayers and wishes. Please do not follow the baseless news that is being spread by sections of the media. There was news that dad was discharged and on the same day, another news stated that we have applied for a lung transplant. There was news that he was singing in ICU for his fans. None of this is true. Please be wary of such news. Your prayers are helping. Dad is comfortable and free from sedation. We are praying that things will get well really, really soon."

The singer got admitted to a Chennai hospital on August 5 after testing positive for COVID-19. SPB was later put on life support on August 14 when his condition worsened after a bout of pneumonia.
