Khaali Peeli, starring Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter, is set for release on October 2. Producer Ali Abbas Zafar announced that the film will be directly released on Zee Plex, which is a pay-per-view service.

“Akkhi country jis mad ride ke peeche padi hai, woh aa rahi hai 2nd October ko! Toh public ready ho jao, Khaali Peeli ke liye (The mad ride, the whole country is after, is arriving on October 2. So public be ready for Khaali Peeli), arriving exclusively on Zee Plex,” Ali tweeted.

Helmed by debutant Maqbool Khan, the film was initially scheduled for release in theatres on June 12. It was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the last leg of shooting was carried out in late August. 

The film is said to be an ‘edgy masala entertainer’ set in Mumbai and features Jaideep Ahlawat as the antagonist. 

Khaali Peeli is co-produced by AAZ Films, Offside Entertainment and ZEE Studios.
