As part of his Feed India campaign, chef-turned-filmmaker Vikas Khanna has distributed 2 million meals during the Ganesh festival week. The meal bags were first sent to Siddhivinayak temple and Lal Bagh Ka Raja in Mumbai to offer prasad. Post that, the trucks left for various locations to distribute. Since the lockdown, the Feed India campaign has been providing food, sanitation kits and essentials to the less privileged sections of society. Vikas, who is presently in the US, has helped around 30 million people during the pandemic.

“Ganesh Pooja is a very special festival for everyone in India and there cannot be a better day to celebrate it with food and feeding those who are in need,” Vikas shared. “No one should be deprived of food on any day and I want to make efforts to do this. The essence of the festival is spreading happiness and joy amongst each other and doing this for the people of my country gives me immense joy and satisfaction.”
