Director Pa Ranjith's production house Neelam Productions will next be bankrolling a film titled Kuthiraivaal, starring Kalaiyarasan and Anjali Patil, and directed by debutant filmmakers Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder. The first look, featuring Kalaiyarasan walking past a blue painted wall with an image of MGR, was released on Monday. 

Said to be a film on magical realism, Kuthiraivaal's first look has a touch of that genre with Kalaiyarasan's shadow, which falls on the wall, sporting a tail. 

Kuthiraivaal has music by Pradeep Kumar and cinematography by Karthik Muthukumar.

Interestingly, Kalaiyarasan had previously worked in Ranjith's Attakathi, Madras and Kabali, while Anjali made her Tamil debut with the director's Kaala. 

Kalaiyarasan is currently awaiting the release of China, Titanic Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum and Puthiya Mugam, while Ranjith is working on his directorial Salpetta, starring Arya.
