Keerthy Suresh has been roped in to play the role of Chiranjeevi's sister in the Telugu remake of Vedalam, say reports. Interestingly, it is Chiru himself who suggested the name of the Mahanati actor to director Meher Ramesh.

"Chiru really liked Keerthy's performance in Mahanati and believed that she would fit the bill for his film perfectly. The director has approached her and pitched the script. She has verbally agreed but is yet to sign the dotted line. The signing formalities will be completed soon," says a source.

The Tamil film featuring Ajith Kumar had Lakshmi Menon playing his sister. The Telugu remake will go on floors soon after Chiru wraps up Acharya.

Besides this project, Keerthy is also committed to working in the Mahesh Babu-starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
