Reports suggest that Michael B Jordan, who essayed the titular role of Adonis Creed in the first two instalments of Creed, will direct the third film.

Creed is the spin-off and continuation of the popular Rocky franchise of Sylvester Stallone. It follows Adonis Creed, the illegitimate son of the late Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa's foe-turned-friend.

Banking on the success of Fruitvale (which also starred Jordan), writer/director Ryan Coogler convinced Stallone to continue the franchise after Rocky Balboa. The result of this was the birth of the Creed franchise.

As Coogler went on to direct Black Panther, Creed 2 was written by Stallone and Juel Taylor, and directed by indie filmmaker Steven Caple Jr.

Although no official announcement has been made yet, Deadline has reported that Jordan himself will direct Creed 3. If that happens, it will be his directorial debut.
