Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty to adapt Shakespeare's The Comedy Of Errors

Besides Ranveer, who will play a double role in the lead, the film also features Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, among others

Actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Rohit Shetty are all set to reunite for a new Hindi feature film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Comedy Of Errors. Ranveer will reportedly be essaying a double role in the film titled Cirkus.

The play has already been adapted in Bollywood by Gulzar as Angoor (1982), starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma, and the Bimal Roy-produced Do Dooni Chaar (1968), starring Kishore Kumar and Asit Sen.

Besides Ranveer in the lead, the upcoming film will also feature Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Murli Sharma.

Cirkus is set to go on floors next month and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa. The film, produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, is scheduled for release in the winter of 2021.

Meanwhile, Ranveer has the much-hyped 83 coming up, which has him playing the iconic Kapil Dev, who captained India's first-ever victorious cricket World Cup campaign in 1983.

Ranveer will also reprise his role as Sangram Bhalerao 'Simmba' in Rohit Shetty's upcoming cop action drama, Sooryavanshi, which stars Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Katrina Kaif.
