Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will make her directorial debut with the upcoming film, Kannamoochi. Produced by Thenandal Films, Kannamoochi will also star Varalaxmi as the lead. The film will have music by Sam CS. 

In addition to the announcement, the first look of the film was also released today. In the poster, a pair of injured hands cover Varalaxmi eyes. The title font is designed like a radio's frequency dial, and it also contains a bloodied knife.

Interestingly, Thenandal Film’s last feature project was Mersal, which hit the screens three years ago on the same date.

Varalaxmi was recently seen in the Telugu anthology Addham, backed by Aha Video. The actor’s Danny also got a digital release earlier this year. Varalaxmi currently has Kanni Raasi, Kaatteri, Chasing, Colours, and Krack, among others, in the pipeline.
