Kadambur Raju, Minister for Information and Publicity, while addressing the media in Thoothukudi, said that the Tamil Nadu government and the censor board will come together to stop obscene films from releasing. The minister made the statement when he was asked about the ongoing controversy surrounding Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu: Irandam Kuthu. 

The film is creating a huge uproar online ever since its makers released the promos. The upcoming adult comedy is getting slammed for its alleged vulgarity.

Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja has also come out against the film. In a statement, he said, "Such vulgarity is unbecoming of the Tamil film industry. I request the Tamil Nadu government and the Censor Board to take necessary steps to stop such films."

When Kadambur Raju was asked about the filmmaker's request, he said that though the censor board is under the control of the central government, the Tamil Nadu government will insist the board to remove any obscenity in films. He added that the state government will work to ensure that films that disrespect and undermine Tamil culture will be banned.
