Ajith Kumar currently has a busy slate of projects lined up, with the actor set to reunite with Good Bad Ugly director Adhik Ravichandran for his next outing. The film, titled Dare Devil, is expected to be a departure in tone from their previous collaboration and is said to be mounted as a family-orientated entertainer.

Beyond this project, Ajith is also expected to collaborate with filmmaker Venkat Prabhu on a possible sequel to their 2011 blockbuster Mankatha. While details about the project remain under wraps, these commitments could keep the actor occupied for the foreseeable future.

Amid these developments, a new report has suggested that Ajith could reunite with another prominent filmmaker, director Shankar. According to Touring Talkies, the actor and the Enthiran filmmaker are likely to join hands for a project once Ajith wraps Dare Devil and Mankatha 2, if the sequel materialises. The report claims that the proposed film's script and budget are currently said to be in sync.

Shankar was earlier expected to proceed with his long-awaited Velpari adaptation, which is planned on a large scale. However, the reported Ajith collaboration could potentially push the project further. There has been no official confirmation from either Ajith or Shankar regarding their reported association.

AK64: Kayadu Lohar to join hands with Ajith Kumar-Adhik Ravichandran?

Meanwhile, Dare Devil, previously referred to as AK64, was recently announced as Ajith's next film with Adhik Ravichandran. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in as the composer, marking his reunion with Ajith after Vedalam and Vidaamuyarchi. Adhik had earlier confirmed that he would be directing Ajith again following Good Bad Ugly. The filmmaker has described the upcoming film as a family entertainer that aims to reach a wider audience. The project is also expected to feature several surprises.

The film was initially expected to commence production earlier this year. However, following changes reportedly made to its production setup, Shalini Ajithkumar is said to be backing the project under Brave Hearts Productions. The film is tentatively expected to begin shooting in September, with Ajith reportedly allotting around 75 days for the shoot. Kayadu Lohar and Mohanlal have also been linked to the cast, though their involvement has not been officially confirmed.
