I have nothing to do with Richa Chadha: Payal Ghosh, after defamation suit

Richa Chadha filed a defamation case against actor Payal Ghosh on Tuesday at the Bombay High Court. Following Richa’s petition, Payal’s lawyer has told the court that his client is willing to tender an apology and retract her statement. "She is ready to settle the matter," India Today quoted the lawyer as saying.

“I have nothing to do with Ms Chadha. We, as women, have got to stand with each other, shoulder to shoulder. I don't want any unintentional harassment to her or me on this matter. My fight for justice is against only Mr Kashyap and I want to focus solely on that right now. Let's make the world see his true face,” Payal tweeted today.

Last month, Richa had sent a legal notice to Payal Ghosh for dragging her name in her sexual harassment allegations against director Anurag Kashyap. In her petition, Richa stated that defamatory statements had continued against her despite the legal notice, the report stated. The actor has also sought Rs. 1.1 crore in damages in her suit.

“No woman should misuse their liberties to harass other women with unsubstantiated or non-existent, false and baseless allegations. Our client has initiated appropriate legal action and shall further pursue her legal rights and remedies in law as may be advised in her best interest,” Richa’s lawyer had previously said in a statement.
