Reports suggest that Mookuthi Amman, headlined by Nayanthara, will get a digital release. Word is that the film’s streaming rights have been bagged by Disney+ Hotstar, and the film might be launched for Diwali.

RJ Balaji, who is one of the directors for Mookuthi Amman, has taken a 20-day break from his IPL commentating stint to work on the film. The actor-director announced the same on social media saying, “It is time for Mookuthi Amman.” The film is directed by Balaji and NJ Saravanan.

Mookuthi Amman will have Nayanthara playing a goddess. It also stars Moulee, Urvashi, and Smruthi Venkat, with cameo appearances by Indhuja and Yaashika Anand. The film's shooting was completed before the lockdown.

Mookuthi Amman is produced by Vels International, and the makers had earlier said that they will not opt for a digital release.
