Streaming giant Netflix has announced its long-awaited, first original Tamil anthology film. Titled Paava Kadhaigal, the anthology brings together four famous directors — Sudha Kongara, Gautham Menon, Vignesh Shivan, and Vetri Maaran.

Paava Kadhaigal, which went into production in 2018, is expected to premiere soon.  A press release from Netflix India has said that the anthology will "explore how love, pride and honour influence complex relationships through four intricate and beautiful stories."

Sudha's segment is titled Thangam and it stars Bhavani Sre, Kalidas Jayaram and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj. Gautham's Vaanmagal features the director himself alongside Simran. Vignesh Shivan's Love Panna Uttranum has Anjali, Kalki Koechlin, and Padam Kumar, while Vetri Maaran's segment, featuring Hari, Prakash Raj, Sai Pallavi, is called Oor Iravu

It may be noted that Netflix's competitor Amazon Prime Video made an announcement just yesterday about its first anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai, directed by Sudha Kongara, Gautham Menon, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Rajiv Menon, and Karthik Subbaraj.
