CE Features

The most-awaited Master teaser has been unveiled on the occasion of Diwali. The film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the one-and-a-half minute video on his Twitter handle with the caption, "Happy Diwali Nanba!"

The video, which begins with visuals of a college campus, introduces Vijay as a youthful professor who battles alcoholism, and Vijay Sethupathi as his nemesis, Bhavani. There are also multiple swag shots of the stars, with a fleeting glimpse of Malavika Mohanan, who is said to play a lecturer.

The teaser also shows Shanthnu Bakkiyaraj and Kaithi villain Arun Das as college students. The video ends with the inevitable face-off between Vijay and Sethupathi, as they bump fists. The teaser, notably, does not feature any dialogue from Vijay.

It may be noted that Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in the film, had heaped praises on this teaser, weaks ago.

The Vijay-starrer has been the talk of the industry ever since it was announced. With music by Anirudh Ravichander, Master is expected to bring the audiences back to the theatres and is likely to hit the screens for Pongal 2021.

Master was initially planned for release in April, but got postponed due to the pandemic outbreak.
