Chris Pratt is joining hands with Wolf Warrior-fame Chinese martial artist-actor Wu Jing, for the Hollywood remake of the Vietnamese action-comedy, Saigon Bodyguards.

Universal Pictures is developing the new film, which will be produced by the Russo Brothers. The film reunites the Russo brothers with Jing after Wolf Warriors 2, on which the duo served as consultants.

Saigon Bodyguards narrates the tale of two friends, one a straight-forward person and the other a dimwit, who are on a hunt to find a corporate heir who got kidnapped under their watch. 

Alex Gregory, who is famous for Frasier, and fellow Veep writer Peter Huyck are working on the script. Pratt will also bankroll the film through his Indivisible Productions alongside Mike Larocca and Russos via their AGBO production banner.

The 2016 original was directed by Ken Ochiai of Ninja the Monster fame and starred Kim Ly and Thai Hoa in the lead. It was produced by Rhombus Media and TNA Entertainments, and presented by CJ Entertainment.
