Back to the Future actor Elsa Raven passes away

Best known for her role in Back to the Future, Elsa Raven has also appeared in Titanic, Amen, Amityville Horror, Answers to Nothing, and more

Actor Elsa Raven, known for her roles in Back to the Future and Amen, passed away on Monday at the age of 91.

Born Elsa Rabinowitz, she adopted 'Raven' as her stage name and began her career performing in New York City.

Raven, who found her big break with 1970's The Honeymoon Killers, also played a small, but memorable part in Amityville Horror. Her final film role came in 2011's Answers to Nothing.

Variety reported that Elsa Raven also acted in Titanic as Ida Strauss, though most of her scenes were cut from the film. However, she was featured in the Celine Dion video as part of the couple in the stateroom where water poured in.

Raven has also appeared in multiple TV shows like Amen, in which she played a maid named Inga, Wiseguy, in which she essayed the character of Carlotta Terranova, and Days of Our Lives. She also appeared in cameo roles in sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Seinfeld.

Raven was also a part of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lynne Rabinowitz and her 15 nieces and nephews.
