Actor Hilarie Burton has been roped in to play the role of Negan’s late wife, Lucille, in AMC's hit zombie apocalypse show, The Walking Dead. Interestingly, Hilarie Burton is the wife of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan in the show.

The Walking Dead fans will remember Negan as one of the show's most ruthless antagonists and this news, as reported by Comicbook.com, is a huge hint that the show will further explore Negan's backstory in the upcoming final season of the show.

Reportedly, the pair has already been shooting together in Georgia as work continues on season 11 of the show.

Burton, best known for starring in One Tree Hill, has also appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, White Collar, and Lethal Weapon. Morgan and Burton have both appeared on the show, Extant, and more recently teamed up to do quarantine interviews on their talk show, Friday Night In With the Morgans.
