Hulu has officially canceled the Stephen King series Castle Rock, after two seasons. Created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, Castle Rock takes place in the titular fictional town created by Stephen King, while also featuring and referencing several characters from the author's works.

The show first premiered on the streaming service in July 2018, while season 2 dropped a little over a year ago in October 2019.

Season 1 of the show focused on lawyer Henry Deaver (André Holland) as he returns to his hometown at the request of a mysterious inmate (Bill Skarsgård), while season 2 depicted the origin story of Misery's Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), one of King's most memorable villains.

Since the end of the season, there has been no announcement regarding the Hulu series, and TVLine has now reported that the show has been axed.

Reportedly, Hulu also canceled shows like High Fidelity and Reprisal a few months ago.

Fans of Stephen King might not need to worry, as numerous other adaptations of the author's works are on the way, including Zac Efron's Firestarter, Season 2 of HBO's The Outsider, and CBS's The Stand.
