Actor Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 45 lakh to members of Cine & Television Artistes Association (CINTAA). The contribution will help junior artistes and daily-wage workers affected by the lockdown.

According to reports, CINTAA members reached out to actor Jaaved Jaaferi to connect with Akshay and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Hearing their request, the duo promptly transferred Rs 3000 into every member's bank account. The association has been receiving gratitude messages from 1,500 workers, senior joint secretary Amit Behl told a daily.

Akshay had previously pledged to donate Rs. 25 crore to the PM-Cares Fund. He had also contributed to the Mumbai Police Foundation (Rs. 2 crore) and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (3 crore). The actor recently lent his support to Samarpan, a group of doctors and civil servants providing sanitary products to female workers and daily-wage earners.
