Ever since filming and other production activities have been suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic, rumour mills were abuzz that the fourth season of popular Telugu reality show Bigg Boss stands cancelled.

Rumours were also abuzz that Nagarjuna, who is returning as the host for this season, has backed out of Season 4. However, when Cinema Express reached out to a source close to the production of Bigg Boss Telugu, they laughed off the rumours. "Bigg Boss Telugu will kick-start the proceedings by the end of July or the first week of August. There is a delay in production due to the suspension of shootings, but the show is not cancelled. We wanted to commence the shoot in June after shortlisting the contestants in May, but now, we have rescheduled it to June/July," says the source.

While speculations were rife that actors Allari Naresh and TThharun would participate in the reality show, it turns these were just rumours.
