Jon Stewart's Irresistible will skip its scheduled theatrical release on May 29, and premiere instead on Apple TV+ on June 26. The film joins other delayed projects like Tom Hanks' Greyhound and Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson's The King of Staten Island.
Irresistible will be Stewart's second film as a writer and director. His first film, Rosewater, received lukewarm reviews.
Irresistible stars Steve Carell, Rose Byrne, Mackenzie Davis, Topher Grace, and Natasha Lyonne. The story revolves around a Democratic political consultant (Carell) who helps a retired Marine colonel (Chris Cooper) run for mayor in a small right-wing town. However, he gets surprised when the Republican National Committee sends in his enemy (Byrne) to lead the opposition.
The film is produced by Stewart, Lila Yacoub, and Plan B Entertainment's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
