The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to hold a joint meeting with industry representatives. Earlier this week, both FWICE and the Producers Guild of India had written to the CM requesting permission to resume post-production work on stalled films. The entertainment industry has been on complete shutdown following government directives since March 19.

“As the government is considering for an action plan for the resumption of the shooting and post production activities in limited way by adhering to the social distancing and other norms, we would like to request you that a joined zoom meeting should be convened wherein there should be equal representation of all the stakeholders of the media and entertainment industry and the norms or the guidelines can be finalised during this zoom meeting,” FWICE said in its letter dated May 21.

The stakeholders would include representatives from producers’ bodies as well as television and cine workers’ representatives. “A joint meeting on zoom shall enable all these stakeholders to present their views of the guidelines being framed,” the letter added.
