Michael Bay will produce the first feature film in Hollywood to be shot during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. Titled Songbird, the film directed by Adam Mason will be shot in Los Angeles and the production of the project will begin in five weeks. There is no exact information on how the crew is going to pull off the project. 

The script, co-written by Mason and Simon Boyes, revolves around the scenario where coronavirus has not gone away and lockdowns have been reinstated as the virus continues to mutate.

In contrast to Bay's usual high-budget films, Songbird is said to be a low-budget thriller like Paranormal Activity. Along with Bay, the producers are former Paramount production chief Adam Goodman and Eben Davidson of Invisible Narratives, which is partnered with Catchlight Studios, co-founded by former Blumhouse production chief Jeanette Volturno.

Songbird has cinematography by Jacques Jouffret of The Purge fame and the production design will be done by Jennifer Spence known for Paranormal Activity and the Annabelle films.
