In an unexpected turn of events on Monday, the makers of RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) announced that they will not be releasing the first look poster or teaser glimpse of Jr NTR on his 37th birthday, which falls on May 20. The news has come as a disappointment to fans of the actor, who were eagerly waiting to see their matinee idol in Komaram Bheem's avatar.

"As the lockdown gets extended time and again, work has come to a dead stop. And though we tried our best, we couldn’t finish work on a glimpse of NTR to give you all a treat on his birthday! And so, we will not be releasing either a first look or a video on the occasion," read the statement from the makers.

They added, "We don't want to release something just for the sake of it and we promise that the wait will absolutely be worth it! Whenever it comes to you, be sure it will be the biggest festival for all of us!"

Production of the SS Rajamouli directorial set in the pre-Independence era has been suspended and its release date postponed due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Earlier, the makers of RRR had released the first look poster and the motion poster of Ram Charan as Alluri Seetharama Raju on his birthday.
