Warner Bros has signed eight-week extensions with the cast of Matrix 4 hoping to resume production of the film in July. The production of the sci-fi film, helmed by Lana Wachowski, was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return to play the lead roles in the film. Other cast members include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Brian J Smith, Toby Onwumere and Jonathan Groff.

The production work started in February in San Francisco. It was set to move to Berlin in March but was halted due to Covid-19 outbreak.

Actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising their roles in the film, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris are new additions to the series.

Matrix 4 is scheduled for release next year. It is unknown if the release will be pushed due to this delay in production.
