Netflix India has unveiled the first look of Betaal. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the show is a period zombie drama starring Viineet Kumar Singh and Ahana Kumra in the lead roles. Its creator is Patrick Graham, who previously directed the horror mini-series Ghoul for the platform. 

Netflix shared the motion poster of Betaal today. It features Viineet in a military uniform as he stands with the other characters. The room is dark and grimy, like the Gulag in Call of Duty: Warzone, as a fire burns to one side. 

The official synopsis of Betaal reads, “A remote village becomes the theatre of a breathless battle when a two-century-old Betaal, a British Indian Army officer, and his battalion of zombie redcoats are unleashed. With Indian police pitted against the undead army, hapless villagers are trapped in a horrific, edge-of-your-seat conflict.”

Betaal also stars Suchitra Pillai, Jitendra Joshi, Manjiri Pupala, and Syna Anand. The Indian original series is set to premiere on May 24.
