Pooja Hegde, who made her debut through Mysskin's Mugamoodi in 2012, went on to become a famous actor in Telugu and Hindi films. It is now widely speculated that she might return to Tamil and star opposite Suriya in his upcoming film Aruvaa, directed by Hari.

While there were reports earlier that Malavika Mohanan and Rashmika Mandanna were the frontrunners for the female lead role, recent updates suggest that the team has chosen the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actor. However, there is no official word on Pooja being part of the project yet.

Aruvaa, which was announced earlier this month, has composer D Imman joining hands with the actor-director duo for the first time. Produced by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green productions, the project was meant to go on floors in April and completed in a single schedule, aiming for a Diwali release. But the Coronavirus pandemic has halted the filming.
