Chiranjeevi votes for Ram Charan over Mahesh Babu for Acharya

CE Features

The cameo in Chiranjeevi's upcoming film Acharya turned into a game of musical chairs. While Ram Charan was the original choice, the role later went to Mahesh Babu as the former was unavailable owing to his commitment to Rajamouli's RRR

However, according to a well-placed source, the role has now gone back to Charan since the makers of Acharya are against entertaining Mahesh's salary demands. Mahesh apparently quoted a whopping Rs 30 crore for a 30-day call sheet. "The team countered with an offer to pay him Rs 15 crore for the part. As they did not get a favourable response from Mahesh, they have gone back to Charan to play the role of a Naxalite," says an insider close to the development.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya deals with a socially relevant subject. The film's shooting is currently underway in RFC and the makers are planning to release Acharya on August 14.
