We had earlier reported that choreographer Brinda will be making her directorial debut with Dulquer Salmaan headlining the project. The latest is that the film has been titled Hey Sinamika. Apart from Dulquer, the film will also feature Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal.

Touted to be a romcom, shooting for the project began today in Chennai with Dulquer and Aditi in attendance for the inaugural ceremony. While directors Bhagyaraj and Mani Ratnam directed the first shot, the clap was sounded by Suhasini and Khusboo.

Interestingly, Hey Sinamika is a song from Mani Ratnam’s film O Kadhal Kanmani, which also starred Dulquer in the lead.

Hey Sinamika is being bankrolled by Jio Studios, their first production venture in Tamil.

Meanwhile, Dulquer was recently seen in Desingh Periyasamy’s Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal, which opened to positive reviews and is going strong at the box office.
