Apart from co-directing the film with NJ Sarvanan, RJ Balaji will act in it as well

We had earlier reported that Nayanthara will headline RJ Balaji’s Mookuthi Amman. The first-look poster of the same was unveiled recently on social media. Both posters featured Nayanthara as the goddess, in a call back to all the insanely popular Amman films from the 90s.

Apart from co-directing the film with NJ Sarvanan, RJ Balaji will act in it as well. Mookuthi Amman also stars Urvashi, Indhuja,  Robo Shankar, Mouli, Thadam actor Smruthi Venkat and Visaaranai-fame Ajay Ghosh in key roles.

Produced by Vels Film International, Mookuthi Amman will have music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan. The film is expected to be released this Summer.

Notably, the name ‘Mookuthi Amman’ garnered much spotlight after it used in Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s 2001 film Little John, which starred Bentley Mitchum and Jyothika in lead roles.
