Christopher Nolan's much-anticipated sci-fi film, Tenet, is getting delayed for the second time. Backed by Warner Bros, the film was initially slated to release on July 17, but it was postponed to July 31. Now, it is announced that Tenet will be released on August 12.

Nolan has been particular about using the upcoming film to revive the theatre-going culture, which has taken a severe hit due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The makers are also planning to come up with a different strategy to make the film a financial success despite all the odds. A Warner Bros spokesperson was quoted by Variety as saying, "At this moment what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film in their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy."

The promos of Tenet, which is touted to be the most ambitious project of Nolan, suggest that it is another mind-bending film from the director, who is yet again playing with the concept of time. 

The film stars David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, and Dimple Kapadia. Ludwig Goransson has composed the original score for Tenet.
