Actor Shahid Kapoor has penned a note on his film Kabir Singh completing a year. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh was the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy. The film, which also starred Kiara Advani, was a major box-office hit amid severe backlash for promoting misogyny and toxic masculinity.

“To all those who gave so much overwhelming love to such a complex, conflicted character. Thank you. Kabir Singh was never just a film to me. It was an emotional arc that was raw, bare, unabashed, honest, fearless, REAL!!” Shahid wrote.

Addressing the critical slating received by the film, Shahid added, “In a time where people are quick to judge (others not themselves ) you understood him. You understood our interpretation of the angst of a broken heart. This one will always be special. So so special.”

The actor ended his note by thanking his team and fans. “Thank you all once again. And remember. Keep it real and make it count. Be kind. Be good. Spread positivity. And always believe.”

Shahid’s upcoming release is Jersey. The film is a remake of the 2019 Telugu sports drama of the same name, starring Nani.
