Actor Ronjini Chakraborty plays a pivotal role in the ZEE5 original series, Lalbazaar. Set in Kolkata, the crime thriller is directed by Satyavan Ghosh and produced by Ajay Devgn. Ronjini has previously appeared in the films Tumbbad, Simmba, Article 15, and Chippa, and the web shows Made in Heaven and Raktanchal.

Talking about her role in Lalbazaar, Ronjini shares, "Farzana is a young girl, living in a slum and taking care of her father. She is the sole bread earner. Due to certain circumstances, she has to take up prostitution."

"Every character is mysterious and mystery unfolds with every episode. Farzana is mysterious and she has so much going within her but not able to express. She is also righteous and fearless, and stands for justice. She is vulnerable, yet with a big heart," she adds.

Ronjini feels Ajay Devgn lending his voice to the show’s trailer has made it larger than life. "The credibility of the show just got increased by a huge level. Really happy and grateful for it," she says.
