Actor Manoj K Jayan has assured fans that Mammootty's Bilal will start filming soon. A sequel to the 2007 hit, Big B, the film will also see the return of director Amal Neerad, who helmed the original.

It has been revealed earlier that the director has decided to make Bilal his follow-up project after 2018's Varathan starring Fahadh Faasil.

Manoj K Jayan will be reprising his role from the original. "We had planned to start shooting Bilal on March 26, but then the coronavirus and lockdown happened, and Big B fans got upset. Bilal and gang will be back stronger than before," he assured.

Recently, another principal cast member from the original film, Bala, had confirmed that he will be back as well. The actor played Murugan John Kurishingal, one of Mammootty's brothers in Big B.

In addition to co-writing the film, Amal may also produce it under his Amal Neerad Productions banner.
