Bollywood composer Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid duo passed away in the early hours of today in Mumbai. He was 42. Wajid was hospitalised a few days ago due to a kidney infection. He was admitted to the Surana Hospital in Chembur.

Sajid-Wajid started their composing career with Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998). The film would start a long association with Salman Khan over multiple projects, including Hello Brother, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, Tere Naam, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Dabangg, Dabangg 3, and others. Their other notable albums include Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, Shararat, Chori Chori, Rowdy Rathore, Main Tera Hero, and Daawat-e-Ishq, amongst others. Wajid had also voiced popular songs like Do You Wanna Partner, Mera Hi Jalwa, Chinta Tha Chita Chita, and more.

Sajid-Wajid were mentors on the reality shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012. They had also composed the IPL 4 theme song and the title tracks for Bigg Boss 4 and 6. Most recently, the duo collaborated with Salman on the songs Pyaar Karona and Bhai Bhai during the lockdown.
