We had earlier reported that Amazon Prime is reportedly in talks with Mani Ratnam and his banner, Madras Talkies for an anthology based on the Navarasas. Reports now suggest that the streaming platform has another anthology in the pipeline, with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sudha Kongara, Rajiv Menon, Suhasini Mani Rathnam, and Karthik Subbaraj tapped to direct the different segments.

It is also said that an official announcement about this project will be made soon with the theme and casting details. Shooting for a few of the segments has apparently already begun.

Amazon Prime previously backed the series Vella Raja, its first and only Tamil original so far. However, the streaming giant facilitated the digital release of two Tamil films during the coronavirus quarantine period: Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal and Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin.
