It is known that Dhanush is collaborating with Pariyerum Perumal-fame Mari Selvaraj for Karnan. The first poster of the film was unveiled today by the makers to mark Dhanush's birthday. The impressive poster shows a pile of hands clasping each other and lifting a sword up in the air, with livestock and trees in the background.

Produced by V Creations, Karnan features Malayalam actor Rajisha Vijayan as the female lead and will mark her Tamil debut. The film also stars Natrajan Subramaniam, Lal, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, and Gouri Kishen in important roles.

Karnan has music by Santhosh Narayanan, his second collaboration with Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal. Theni Easwar (Peranbu, Merku Thodarchi Malai) is the film's cinematographer.
