The cops have arrested 12 people, including actor Shaam, for alleged gambling activity at his Nungambakkam apartment in Chennai.

The police said that gambling tokens have been recovered from the flat owned by the actor where many, including some popular Tamil actors, have been indulging in the illegal activity amidst the lockdown. It is not clear yet if any other actors will be arrested in this regard.

Rumours suggest that the cops were tipped off by a popular actor who had allegedly lost a big sum while gambling here.

The police crackdown comes a day after a final-year student killed himself after sustaining losses in an online game.

Shaam was last seen on screen in the 2019 film Kaaviyyan.
