Actor Nithiin got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Shalini Kandukuri in Hyderabad in a close-knit ceremony on Wednesday. Nithiin announced the news on his Twitter page and shared a picture of himself exchanging the engagement ring with Shalini.

Speaking to Cinema Express earlier this year, Nithiin had said 2020 was going to be a special year for him. "I met Shalini through common friends in 2012. Since then, we have been seeing each other and it took us four-five years to be in the same space. We decided to take our relationship to the next level last year. We convinced our parents and got their consent for the marriage," said Nithiin.

The wedding is going to take place in a private ceremony on July 26 at Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad.

On the work front, Nithiin is currently shooting for director Chandrasekhar Yeleti's Check and a romcom titled Rang De. He is also committed to work in the Telugu remake of the National Award-winning Hindi comedy thriller Andhadhun (2018) and director Chaitanya Krishna's Power Pet.
