CE Features

Gael Garcia Bernal is all set to join the cast of M Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film for Universal. Reports suggest that the Amores Perros actor is the latest addition to the ensemble that consists of Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Ken Leung.

The untitled project is part of Shyamalan’s two-film deal with Universal. The Unbreakable director will write, direct, and also finance the new film with Ashwin Rajan for Blinding Edge Pictures. Little is known about the film’s plot.

After taking it off its release calendar initially due to the coronavirus pandemic, Universe recently scheduled this untitled project for release on July 23, 2021. However, it is unclear when shooting will begin.

Shyamalan’s last release was the 2019 film Glass, while Garcia Bernal was recently seen in Netflix’s The Wasp Network.
